A man coming from a beer-drink spent 12 hours drenched in sewage after being thrown in a drain by suspected robbers. Silas Tsvigu, 33, of Emganwini suburb, is lucky to be alive after he was attacked by five men who robbed and threw him in a sewage drain in the suburb on Saturday night.
Tsvigu spent the whole night in the drain and was only rescued by a passerby at around 10AM yesterday.
Police said Tsvigu told them that he was attacked by five men as he walked home.

A man, who identified himself only as Ngulube, said he spotted Tsvigu in the drain and reported the matter to Nkulumane police station
Ngulube said at first he thought Tsvigu was dead.
“I saw the man around 10AM on my way to church and I thought he was dead because he was not moving. I then reported to the police who later found out that he was still alive and called an ambulance to rush him to hospital,” said Ngulube.
He said Tsvigu told him that he was attacked by five men who robbed him of his money before throwing him into the drain.
When the newscrew arrived at the scene, an ambulance had just arrived to ferry Tsvigu to Mpilo Central Hospital.
