Manchester United dealing with 5 candidates for position

Manchester United’s fortunes could soon change for the better once the FA Cup final whistle blows today, on Saturday, May 21.

They will be competing against Crystal Palace at Wembley stadium, today, Saturday, May 21, at 7.30 pm local time and regardless of the out come, current manager Louis Van Gaal (LVG) will be heading out.

According to Manchester News, there are five other managers waiting on the sideline to be picked but former Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho will be coming in.

According to UK media reports, Jose Mourinho is set to be announced as the new coach once the final game is over.

Mourinho once worked as LVG’s apprentice while at Barcelona and it was claimed in reports that he cried when he was initially overlooked as Ferguson’s successor in 2013.

Other candidates for the job include Ryan Giggs who played for the team before taking up managerial roles under David Moyes and LVG.

Ronald Koeman, a former Barcelona and Southampton star, Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Ajax’s soon to be former manager, Frank de Boer also made the list of coaches to take over from LVG at Man United.

LVG however dismissed suggestions that a win at Wembley was crucial to him keeping his job with the red devils at Old Trafford.

According to the Telegraph, all LVG was currently focusing on was bringing the silverware home for the team and the fans.

Manchester United managed to come in fifth in the just concluded Premier League, a disappointing performance after failing to win any major cup since their legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, retired in 2013.
