Arsenal Officially Unveils New Signing

Arsenal have officially announced on their website that they have signed the long awaited defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny, after completing his reported £5m move from FC Basel.

The 23 year old is expected to be registered in time to be available for Sunday’s league game against Stoke.

The Egyptian international played in Basel’s win over Chelsea in the 2013-14 Champions League and is eligible to play in this season’s competition.

Elneny spent three years with the Swiss club, making over 90 league appearances and winning three consecutive Super League titles.

An experienced Egypt international, he helped his country to the quarter-finals of the London Olympics in 2012.

He featured 28 times in all competitions in the first half of this season, scoring six goals.

Arsenal are top of the Premier League, at home to Burnley in the fourth round of the FA Cup and will face defending champions Barcelona in the last-16 of the Champions League.

This move will definitely excites many Gunners supporters who have been sweating after their key players sustained long term injuries.
