The financial advisor was dethroned by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust this week for her “immoral behaviour” after images of her posing nude were leaked to the public. She will be replaced by her first princess, 19-year-old Annie Grace Mutambu who will be crowned at the Miss Zimbabwe Trust offices in Harare next week. Kachote is insisting that she is still the Queen as she had done nothing wrong.
Miss Zimbabwe 2012 Bongani Dhlakama said although it was sad that Kachote had been dethroned, she supported the decision by the Miss Zimbabwe Trust.
“The Miss Zimbabwe Trust has its rules and they must be adhered to at the end of the day. It’s a matter of crime and punishment. If you commit a crime, then you should be punished for it,” Dhlakama said.

Miss Zimbabwe 2004 Oslie Muringai-Matsikenyeri said instead of dethroning Kachote, the Miss Zimbabwe Trust should have protected her as she was a victim of revenge porn.
“I’m sad that Emily has been dethroned because she’d a lot of criticism from people after she was crowned. I think the Miss Zimbabwe Trust could’ve protected her more and supported her rather than dethroning her, although they had rules to adhere to,” said Muringai-Matsikenyeri.
She encouraged the Miss Zimbabwe Trust to invest in a more robust public relations department to avoid such scenarios.
Before Kachote was removed, Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services, Professor Jonathan Moyo and United Nations Gender Champion Albert Nyathi had advised pageant organisers to desist from worrying about models taking nude pictures as they were fighting a losing battle.
“Beauty pageants still worrying about nude pictures will only attract beasts. All beauties have nude selfies!” tweeted Professor Moyo.
Some Twitter and Facebook users described the dethronement as an embarrassment to the nation while others commended the Trust for ending the debacle.
“The Trust has done a good thing in sacking Emily. Rules are rules and she knew them. The pageant is meant to produce role models and what role model can she be if she drinks up to the extent of losing control of her actions.
“With such a reputation, she stands a better chance of winning Big Brother Africa,” posted Freddy Phiri on the Miss World Zimbabwe Facebook page.
Lorraine Nheweyembwa Muholo posted: “The most disorganised people. Exploiting models, dethroning them on allegations, you’re an embarrassment to be the holders of the Miss World licence.”
However, Kachote might not be going down without a fight as she has hinted that she intends to fight back on a Facebook fan page — Emily Tatanga Kachote purportedly run by her.
Immediately after the announcement of her dethronement by Miss World Zimbabwe organisers — Miss Zimbabwe Trust on Wednesday, the fan page posted: “There are two kinds of pain: the sort of pain that makes you strong, or useless pain; the sort of pain that’s only suffering. I’ve no patience for useless things. For now I’m waiting for my Attorney then I’ll hold a Press conference before the end of next week,” in apparent reference to the debacle.
She, however, did not specify her target but she has refuted the nude pictures claim over the last five weeks.
“No matter how hard you try to remove me from the throne by blackmailing me with the so-called nude picture, you won’t win because I’m here to stay. I’ll remain Miss Zimbabwe, hopeful I’ll become Miss World soon,” the page said.
On Thursday, the page, which has over 4,000 likes, posted a mysterious message: “For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy. There’s but one rule: hunt or be hunted.”
